GoFundMe Giving Fund is a non-profit organization organized exclusively for the purpose of encouraging philanthropy and charitable giving by receiving charitable contributions, providing support and assistance to encourage the making of charitable contributions, and making grants and providing support and assistance to organizations which are organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes, or to foster national or international amateur sports competition, or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals and which are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3).
This Privacy Policy explains how and why GoFundMe Giving Fund collects, stores, uses, and shares your Personal data. Reading it will help you understand your privacy rights and choices.
The GoFundMe Giving Fund has engaged GoFundMe, Inc. (“Gofundme” ), an independent third party, to provide all administrative, technical, and operational services it needs to offer and support the GoFundMe Giving Fund, including the technology to enable DAF accounts, as well as all related contributions and distributions. When you set up a DAF account with the GoFundMe Giving Fund or interact with the GoFundMe Giving Fund’s websites, all your account holder information is shared with GoFundMe and its partners to ensure the program is operated efficiently and that all DAF accounts are properly supported and managed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Definitions
“Personal Data” in this statement means information about you, including your identity, finances, and online behavior.
“GoFundMe Giving Fund” or “we” in this statement means GoFundMe Giving Fund, a Donor Advised Fund (“DAF” ) recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS” ) under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code as a tax-exempt public charity (Federal Tax ID: 85-2071964).
“You” in this statement means an Accountholder, as defined in the GoFundMe Giving Fund User Agreement and Program Guidelines.
Understanding Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You have rights and choices when it comes to how your Personal Data is collected, stored, used, and shared. Some Personal Data is required for our services to function. You can control how Personal Data is collected or shared and how we communicate with you.
Your choices about how we communicate with you differ depending on the purpose of the message and how it is delivered. Some messages are considered optional, and some are necessary for us to provide our services. Depending on the situation, we use email, phone, and paper mail to communicate with you.

2. Financial account details, including your credit card or bank information. 3. Information inferred based on your Personal Data, for example fraud and risk assessments.
Where Personal Data Comes From
We may collect personal information about you from various sources, for example from:
- You, when you use GoFundMe Giving Fund DAF account, or respond to our surveys;
- GoFundMe, which acts as our technology partner,
- Service providers, such as companies that help us manage risk and fraud, manage contributions and disbursements, deliver services to you, and market our services; and
- Card networks and payment vendors and processors.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from people who are not allowed to use our sites and services, such as children under the age of 18. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected Personal Information from someone not allowed to use our services, we will promptly delete it, unless we’re legally required to keep it. - GoFundMe and GoFundMe-affiliated companies;

How we Protect your Personal Data
Helping to keep your Personal Data safe against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration is our top priority. To protect your Personal Data, we and our website host use technical, physical, and administrative security measures that include:

If you stop using our services or close your GFGF account, we may keep your Personal Data and other information as required by law and according to our data retention policy. If we do, we’ll continue to handle it as we describe in this Statement.

We’ll make changes to this Privacy Statement from time to time. This helps us stay up to date with changes to our business and the most current laws. After a new version is published, we’ll collect, store, use, and protect your Personal Data as we outline in that revised statement.
